Shad & Debi Kember
IWe were encouraged in the first half of the year with several souls professing salvation in Obregon. Later, some of them were among seven baptized. However, it is not all joy. Recently a sister had to be put away, and we mourn her and a few others who were once among us. May they prove what the psalmist experienced, "He restoreth my soul."
In Guasave, three-hundred kilometres south of here, and in a nearby country hamlet, the Lord has blessed. It is a new work, over one-year-old. Some souls professed in April to June and nine of them were baptized. Marcus Cain drove twelve hours roundtrip, to be there. He gave an excellent message in the gospel. Abisai Vieyra has been a very big help since he was commended in March, although now he is located in Iguala and helping Duncan & Anna Beckett in the work. Please pray for some to be saved in Guasave. So far, one man has professed.
After a busy summer we are back to routine, if life can ever be that. In Obregon, we are benefitting from Emily McCandless and Sarah Stickfort till the end of November. Their hospitality, Bible studies, visits and behind-the-scenes work are a great help. Andrew Zuidema has given us three months this year - one in Iguala, and two here. He and a young local brother did much children's work. He may come for a couple more months this fall. Please pray for God to raise up laborers fitted for this very needy and understaffed work.
