After spending the first year of our marriage taking Spanish classes and assisting in the works of Obregon and Hermosillo, the Lord guided us to a new location in southern Mexico. At the end of March we made our move from Hermosillo/ Cuidad Obregon to Iguala, Guerrero, a city two-and-a-half-hours south of Mexico City. Shad Kember and I first visited Iguala eighteen months ago through family contacts of Christians in Phoenix, Arizona. Since then, the Lord has been working and, to date, there are a good number saved and baptized. The work progressed to a point where monthly visits were not enough to keep up with the needs on the ground. Through prayer and the Lord opening doors, we made our move, twenty hours south, to Iguala. Shad Kember continues on in his labors in Ciudad Obregon and we are happy to hear of the Lord continuing to bless in that work.

We arrived at our rented home in Iguala on March 23rd. The following two weeks we continued with house meetings as we prepared a small hall to hold the meetings in a central location. On April 7th the small hall was up and ready for the first meeting. It was packed and, thankfully, continued to be so for the following two months. When we rented the location, we felt it was a good size as we were not sure how the transition would go, moving from house meetings to a one meeting location in a hall. Two months later it was obvious that a larger hall was needed and so the Lord provided another rental location and it has been very commodious and in an excellent location. Anna and I have been encouraged with the growth of the Christians here. Most are very faithful in coming to the meetings and are seeking to establish habits of daily reading.

Unfortunately, most are also working six, some seven days a week and ten hours a day. This certainly eats into any spare time that they have but thankfully, even against such adversity, they are finding time to read God's word. Please pray that the Lord would give us wisdom to be able to help instill the importance of personal prayer and reading of God's word.

As you may have heard, at the Hermosillo Conference, we had the privilege to witness the first Mexican national couple, Abisai and Carmen Vieyra, commended to the full time work of the Lord. We are doubly thankful to the Lord as their exercise was to join us here in Iguala. Abisai, Carmen and their two children arrived here on July 1st and are now established in their home. They have been a big help to both the Christians and the unsaved. It certainly is a joy to have them help shoulder the work! The Lord is good!

In September, we have planned, Lord willing, a special nightly series of gospel meetings. In preparation for this, we have been gathering at the hall to pack texts and invitations.

We had received six-thousand Romans 5:8 texts and had invitations printed to go along with them. A group of Christians from the Mexico City assembly came to help us distribute the texts, home to home, this past Saturday. We were able to distribute about five-thousand texts to the neighborhoods surrounding the hall and the gospel series began last night. We would ask for prayer that new contacts would be made and souls saved.

On a personal note, Anna and I are expecting a baby boy in November! Please pray for his safe arrival and salvation at an early age.
