El Vigia, Venezuela

Paul & Daphne Chapman

After several months of expressing their desire to come and help again in the work here in El Vigia, Angel Davila and a group of believers from Valencia are arriving. We desire prayer for construction of the hall, from early morning to 4:00 p.m. Materials are bought to complete the roof for the back section, to help control the rain water. They may also finish the underground water tank, in preparation for the back slab which can be poured later, for the kitchen/toilet area. We would like the hall to be lockable and free of water problems before we leave on furlough on November 20th. From 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. there will be the Vocational Bible class for the children, followed by a Gospel meeting for adults from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. This will all be held at the hall, as we would like to commence a children's work there to help in reaching the parents with the Gospel. This also involves the accommodation and preparation of all the meals in our house, for the visitors. Eli and Chiqui are away attending to her sick father, and she was Moises and Erika are in the process of preparing to move into their apartment here and we have been helping them with the kitchen and wardrobes, as they are not able to do it alone, with the wage he is on and the way prices have gone through the roof. They need to be moved in before school starts again, so this month is full.

Recently Daph and I spent a few days in La Villa del Rosario, Colombia, helping in ministry meetings. Another brother gave a Gospel message each night, as there are always unbelievers present. It was good to see the attendance of the believers as well. Pray for the unity of the work in the border area, as there has been an ongoing problem with the assembly in San Antonio which has not improved. The reality of the situation in the country was made clear recently. I was in the supermarket waiting in the line to be served, when they starting bringing powdered milk out of the storeroom. Then entered eight national guards and a group of government officials dressed in red, to control the sale of two tins of milk per person. People in front started messaging their friends to come and get in line. Then the arguments started and the guards had to shut the doors to stop more people coming in. One hour later I finally got out with my few groceries, passed an angry group outside who were yelling at the guards, wanting to get in. I thought, what will it be like when the beast has control of all buying and selling, which is not too far off. With sincere thanks for your prayerful support.
