In 2008 I went to Panama with Marcos Sequera and family, where I spent three months helping in the preaching of the Gospel. When I was about to leave, I went one afternoon to a mall in Panama City which was crowded with people. Upon seeing so many people, I remembered the passage in Matthew 9:36-37, "When he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous". When I went back to Venezuela, I shared that with Ruth, my wife-to-be, and we started praying for God's guidance as to whether the Lord was calling us to His service.

In Venezuela we were involved mostly with children's work. Every year, in the summertime, the assembly in Naguanagua had six weeks of special children's meetings and we enjoyed helping with these activities. When we moved to Canada, we joined the brethren in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, with the Spanish gospel meetings every Sunday for Mexicans that go there every year to work from February to November.

In 2015 we talked to the elders in our assembly in River Road, Portage la Prairie, about our exercise in the Lord's work. They were happy to hear of our exercise and encouraged us. We were commended in 2016. The Lord had laid on our hearts to serve Him in Mexico, so we moved to the city of Zacatecas, Mexico, in May of 2017.

Since we moved, we have been working in the city of Zacatecas and in the town of El Barril, about a one-and-a-half-hour drive from the city of Zacatecas. Jason and Shelley Wahls, from Iowa, have been laboring for several years in El Barril, and the Lord has blessed this work with many souls saved and an assembly established for His glory. El Barril is a very idolatrous town. There are altars and images in almost every house and store, and people are very devoted, more by tradition than by conviction, to their religion. In spite of their religiosity, it is encouraging to see some that show interest in the Gospel. Many of the believers have faced opposition from family members for "leaving the Catholic church." Although, in many cases that attitude has changed over time, in most cases there is no visible interest in salvation. We would appreciate your prayers for the relatives of the believers in El Barril, especially for the husbands of some of the sisters in the assembly. There are several believers that live in the towns nearby, and it is our prayer that the Lord will open a door in these places.

Two years ago, there was a Seed Sowers distribution in the city of Zacatecas, followed by a series of Gospel meetings. For two years, Gospel meetings were held three times a week, but attendance was low. However, a few contacts have been made. Roy is a man that was saved during the Gospel meetings after Seed Sowers. He lives just outside of the city of Zacatecas, in a small town called Santa Monica. Roy and his wife, Claudia, have five children. In December, we started Bible studies with Roy and his family and they are showing much interest in the Word of God. We pray that the Lord will open a door in that town to preach the Gospel.

2012 we've managed a Spanish website (www.salvoxgracia.com) for Gospel outreach and encouragement of believers.

Yours by His grace.
