Urgent Prayer Requested as storms hit their area.

Our house has yet to show any signs of structural problems. The canal behind our house has been completely destroyed by the storms this month, September 2025, and as the stone walls bordering it are gone, the water has washed away most of the land between our house's foundation and the canal!

More storms were expected, so we started removing items of sentimental value from the house; the rooms at the back of the house are now empty of all but the essentials. Mom and Dad Thiessen, along with some friends generously offered space in their homes for storing our items. Ricky also removed the tin roof off the back structure, so the winds wouldn’t rip it off, as they had been threatening to do.
Last night we got another storm, which took another meter of land, but as you can see (the picture below was taken from the middle of the canal), more is loose.
Ricky is seen above taking down the steel structure, before it, too, falls into the water!

There are approximately 200 houses along the canal that are in danger. We received a letter from the city stating they were taking no responsibility for any damage to the homes, but the neighbourhood is sending letters to the federal water commission, civil protection and several other government organizations asking for help.
Thank you for your interest in reading this longer-than-usual newsletter and catching up on our lives this year! Of course, we pray for peace and wisdom as we continue to deal with this situation.
We appreciate you being co-labourers with us in the work of the Lord.
