Santiago, MEXICO

We had a wonderful time on our quick trip up to Washington and then to Taylorside, SK. It was nice to see many of our family members that we hadn't seen in years in Saskatchewan, and it was great to attend the Taylorside conference and meet many believers from all around. We are so thankful to have been able to spend time with my grandparents, Dave and Marion Taylor, just before the Lord called Grandpa home to heaven. Grandpa Dave will be greatly missed. It was a blessing to have been there, to have been able to stay for the funeral, and to be with family
When we returned to Mexico in late July, we went straight to Guadalajara and spent a week with Paul and Barb Thiessen. They had a special week of meetings planned with Sandy Higgins, and several other missionaries who work throughout Mexico were also in attendance. In the mornings, we had Bible studies in English, geared explicitly toward us missionaries. In the evenings, Paul interpreted for Sandy during open meetings for all the believers. It was a real blessing to be there for the spiritual nourishment and also for the fellowship, as well as the opportunity for our kids to get to know some of the other workers' children.
The believers here in Santiago have been well. We had a baptism at the ocean this past Sunday. Andres and his wife Corina were baptized. It was an encouraging time for the saints and all of us here. Andres and Corina have also expressed a desire to be received into fellowship. Andres is one of my students who regularly attends welding classes. He wants to continue learning, so I have taken him under my wing and continue to involve him in some projects.

We are still waiting on paperwork for the property. In July, the president of the Land association was supposed to sign the documents, but the day before the meeting, heended up in the emergency room. He is still in the hospital, and everything is at a standstill until he gets better or his position as president is replaced. All this remains in the Lord's hands as we wait for His perfect timing. We continue to move forward with
preparations so that once the paperwork goes through, we can start building right away, Lord willing.
Please continue to pray for the gospel work here, for Andres and Corina, the local believers, and the students of His Workmanship Academy.
