George Khalil is a Palestinian Christian from Nazareth, Israel, who has been a prominent figure in Arabic-speaking Christian ministry throughout the Middle East since the 1970s. Born and raised in Nazareth, George holds Israeli citizenship and has devoted his life to evangelism, discipleship, and Bible education.
“For thy mercy is great above the heavens: and thy truth reacheth unto the clouds.” (Psalm 108:4)

Ladies’ Meeting once every 2 weeks: Wednesday 10:00–12:00 am
“This is the day that the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24)
We are still on our journey of faith; even in our senior years, we are learning more about God, His attributes, and His great desire to do good for us. So why are we surprised when answers to prayers come? Yes, we believe, but “Lord, help our unbelief.” In answer to our prayers, we have seen Him provide for the salaries and other urgent expenses from sources that we did not expect. His faithfulness indeed reaches to the skies, and this is His very nature.
Although there is officially a “ceasefire” in place, and we are glad that the Israeli hostages have been released, the truth is that hundreds are still being killed in Gaza, aid is still not getting through, and attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank have intensified since the agreement was signed.
Pray for a neutral body to monitor the ceasefire, aid to enter Gaza, and for a lasting peace settlement. The situation is very complex and needs much prayer.
Ministry Update
We are currently halfway through posting the video of the course “The Woman Who Pleases God” on social media, and are now working on the audio and text for the daily devotional Better Than Bread for the first three months beginning in the New Year. Pray that many unsaved would listen to these messages every day through the Emmaus Courses App.
This month, we produced a 1.4‑minute advertisement to promote the Arabic courses on the App, which is available in 33 languages. We hope and pray that it will also be used in the other Arabic-speaking fields to encourage more people to study the courses.
Brother Shawel manages the mentoring of the students using the App. He has recently had encouraging comments from Mohammed N. from Yemen, which we would like to share with you. Please pray for him and other believers in that country, where there is serious persecution.
“I always expect to learn from the Bible each day what is beneficial and useful for my personal life, my social relationships, and my knowledge of God—His nature, His attributes, His commandments—and to continually discover new and delightful things about all that Christ, the Lord of Glory, did and taught, and freely offers to all who believe in Him. I also learn proper conduct, how to walk in the footsteps of the Lord and follow His way, and how to grow continually on the journey toward Him, in fellowship with Him and with other believers. I am truly very happy to have become acquainted with your website and its blessed ministry. It is a great joy for me to be here and to benefit from the valuable courses and books. Your presence, guidance, and willingness to assist throughout this journey bring me great encouragement. I will ask my wife, Kawkab, to join me, and I will also encourage the other believers in our local church in Yemen to take part in these important courses and to visit this remarkable website.”
Bible Distribution
Thank the Lord that we had our first order in two years from one of our customers for our olive wood–covered Bibles, as tourism is just starting to move again. Pray that more orders will follow, as this income helps our office expenses.

New Building
Thank the Lord that we have been able to have the roof sealed with tar sheets in time before the winter rains, install the elevator, and start on the dividing walls. We are still hoping to have a team come in to help with the interior walls and decorating.
House Meeting in Bethlehem
Hazim, a brother from the West Bank who came to faith through the Emmaus courses, is now living in Bet Sahur near Bethlehem, and he and his wife have the desire to plant an assembly there. There are no Arabic-speaking assemblies in the region, nor in Jerusalem. Please pray that the Lord will guide Hazim and Vida as they begin a small home Bible study, asking the Lord to bring people to faith and build from there.
Personal News
We are thanking the Lord again for Ros’s good recovery from her broken ankle and the good medical facilities that we have here. She has qualified for some help with the housework from the National Insurance, and we have a believer who comes once a week and has also started attending the Sunday assembly.
George had his second cataract surgery, and it’s improving, but he is sometimes feeling knee pain (limiting his movements sometimes), but it is not advanced enough for surgery. He had some regenerative plasma treatment, which has helped, but overall, we are thankful for our relatively good health for our age.
We have three friends with cancer, Chuck, Ibtisam, and Awni. Please pray for them. They are all believers, but of course, it is a very hard time for them and their families.
Wishing you the Lord’s peace and joy this New Year, from the Emmaus Team in Nazareth
