Logos School, Cyprus

Steve, Brenda, Katriona, Kristina Bella and Kora We had a very busy but profitable summer. Two weeks of Gospel meetings and VBS in Moses Lake, Washington, time with family for Mom and Dad's 50th, the Ark at the Lynden fair and Arlington Conference to rap it all up. It was a great blessing to share with so many people the Gospel of Jesus Christ and what God is doing at Logos School. We have had an excellent start to the school year with just over 310 students, a number of them coming as refugees from Egypt and Syria. There is also a good number of new students, most of which do not come from Christian homes, where the Gospel and the Bible are foreign concepts. Please pray for Neneh (Nay-naw), a girl in 12th grade who is full of soul-searching questions and is very open to the gospel but has yet to put her trust in Christ's death and resurrection for herself. Our high school clubs have started already in full force, with a number of teachers giving up their afternoons for various activities and Bible studies. The Vice principal and I had our first cooking club for the 10th to 12th grade boys. We had a good group of boys and started a character study on the life of King David, with the overall theme of becoming a "man after God's own heart." It is a very challenging topic, not only for these late teen boys but for myself as well. Brenda has started meeting with some mothers for coffee, tea and a chat once a week. It is a good opportunity to witness and show Christ's love and kindness by opening up our home and our lives to others. In the past this has given her opportunity to share the Gospel with them and we pray it will be so again this year. Winter 2014 Written by Steve Flett - Cyprus sjflett@gmail.com
