Nicaragua

Arriving back in Nicaragua, we almost immediately began a short gospel series in Dolores, with some help from a brother from El Salvador as well as another from Managua. The meetings were well attended, and many seemed to be sincerely interested. We are grateful to see the Lord's hand in blessing and pray that God's word will continue to bear fruit.

We are thankful for the help of two Dolores brethren, Jose Alfredo and Nelson, with the weekly gospel meetings and Bible study which continue in the rural community of El Panama. On September 15th, a national holiday, Mark Bachert invited all the assemblies from this part of the country to gather at his house on the lake for a time of fellowship. Most of the assemblies are still fairly small and benefit from connecting with other Christians and sharing with each other. The end of September found us in Honduras, giving ministry at the wedding ceremony of a young Honduran missionary who has been serving in Nicaragua for several years, including helping establish the work in El Panama. Daniel and Ruth both have a heart for the Lord and the wedding not only was a celebration of their love for Him and each other, but an opportunity to share the gospel and teach God's word to the guests who had gathered.

We value your continued prayers for our family and the work of the Lord here. We are hoping to soon resolve the legal and financial details arising from my traffic accident in June. Tomorrow we are travelling to El Salvador to speak at a youth conference and are looking to the Lord for guidance in messages that will turn these young people wholeheartedly to Him. Also for protection on the roads and from the Chikungunya virus which is rampant in El Salvador. We ask for guidance for intensive Bible studies held annually in Dolores, in December. Two local missionaries and I will be sharing the teaching responsibilities. Pray for blessing for those who attend.
