The past few years have been different times with Covid-19 and the restrictions not only put on gatherings but on the general public. We are thankful that all these restrictions have now been lifted. Even though there are no official restrictions, a lot of people are still very conscious and taking certain measures to stay healthy. Over the Easter holiday, instead of having three large conferences there were several smaller ones throughout the country. Patty and I were in the small assembly of Playitas, located in the far east of the country, along with four other assemblies. It was good to be together to teach and hear the word of God.

We would value your prayers for a very active brother in the Playitas assembly, Julio Alvarez. He was diagnosed with an Acoustic neuroma a few months back. It is operable so they are moving forward to hopefully have the tumor removed in the next few weeks. He is married and has two small children. The doctors are saying that it will be at least a year before he will be able to return to work. Remember Julio and his family in your prayers.

We have been encouraged lately with a good group of young people that have been coming to the Santa Tecla Sunday evening gospel meeting. We pick them up at 4 in the afternoon and upon arriving at the hall, have a small activity with them, sword drill, Bible Pictionary, Bible quiz, etc.; sing and a gospel message followed by a refreshment (something from Patty's kitchen). They range in age between 15 and 20 and are from broken homes, some profess to be saved so please pray for spiritual growth and salvation.

Jiotes will hold its annual conference again after not having it for two years due to the pandemic. We look forward to being with the assemblies from the country's eastern side. We trust that the word spoken in ministry and in the gospel will be a blessing to many. In the past, it has been a conference of around 300, and it will be interesting to see if the numbers go up or down. Some are very anxious to be back together, others have gotten used to attending meetings from the comfort of their own homes, which was very useful and convenient for a time, but it does not take the place of God's people being gathered together.

We are thankful for our liberty in El Salvador to preach the word of God, whether in a building or open air. Most assemblies have at least one outreach work for which we are grateful. Seeing their interest in getting the gospel message to friends and families in the neighbouring towns is great. Pray that the Lord of the harvest will continue to raise up those who desire to hear His message. We know our responsibility is to make Christ known to all, but salvation is of the Lord, "who would have all men to be saved".
