Tony and Danelle Flett, and family

Craig Saword, along with his sons Dan and Jeff, paid a long-awaited visit to Nicaragua at the end of October. I joined him in a week of gospel meetings in Managua, followed by Craig and Jeff preaching a few nights in Dolores. With Christians and unsaved coming from most of the outreaches in this area of the country, on the final night, there were over 200 in attendance. Throughout the series, several professed Christ as their Savior. To Him be all the glory! Craig also gave some excellent and emotional ministry on knowing the Lord's will in.a Christian's life, even in the most difficult of circumstances.

In mid-November, Dolores welcomed about 100 Christians from across the country to indepth Bible studies on the book of Romans with Brother Carl Knott from Spain. These nearly annual studies have had several benefits, including increasing fellowship between believers in different areas; high caliber teaching which is not always available, especially in some smaller assemblies; inspiration and instruction into digging deeper into the Scriptures for personal devotion; and better equipping teachers to communicate to others.

On December 1, we had the year-end program for the Sunday school focusing on the great I Am, and it was a pleasure to host the families of children who attend classes. Although we have fewer students overall than in past years, the teen group has grown and has shown a lot of enthusiasm for their class.

Dolores recently had to say good-bye to one of our young sisters who married a missionary from Honduras. You might remember Oscar and Eveling in your prayers as they have just moved to the northern part of the country and will be serving the Lord in Jalapa. On a sadder note, we are also missing a couple since the husband was operated on for a malignant brain tumour in October. The Christians have been praying faithfully and have visited individually or in a group to sing hymns, especially "It Is Well with My Soul," which is one of Francisco's favourites, but our faithful brother is fading from us. Please pray for Francisco and Anabelle, as well as their children and grandchildren, some of whom are saved and some of whom are still seeking.

I had some things to attend to in Washington, so we're taking advantage of Craig's break from classes to take a trip up and spend Christmas and New Years with family, something we haven't done in ten years. Upon our return, we will be preparing for a group from TeamWorkers Canada who will be helping with further improvements on the camp property in the northern part of the country. Also, we value your prayers for a peaceful and just resolution to the continued socio-political strife and economic problems that the country is facing.
