Earlier this year I was in Dar-es-Salaam to attend the Easter conference. This is now completely organized by the believers in the Keko assembly and has become an established annual event. As in previous years, a carload of believers traveled two days from Lusaka to give their fellowship and support. Two of these men shared the ministry with me, one of them, Eversto Yamboto, gave some excellent teaching on Christian Marriage, applying African situations which the local believers could relate to. The new venue that the assembly had hired proved to be suitable, there was much less disturbance, and those attending could stay on the site if they wished to. This allowed for some sessions where topics could be discussed.

Baptism in the Indian Ocean

On Easter Sunday everyone made their way to the Indian Ocean where a young sister called Tumaini, was baptized. She wanted to come into fellowship, so after the Lord's Supper the following week, two of the elders spoke. One outlined what were her responsibilities in coming into fellowship, and the other reminded the assembly what would be their responsibilities to her. She was then brought forward into the fellowship. It was a very encouraging time.

Over the past years, a few have been added to the assembly. It brings us great joy to see that they wish to practice what they see in the Scriptures, but we would love to see them reaching out more with the gospel. They also continue to meet in the College of Tourism as there has been no progress made with their plot of land. Paperwork needs to be completed initially. We are looking to see how we can encourage them in these matters.
